What is the content store, license code, version number?

A LearningStone powered platform like LearningStone.com can have a content store to distribute course timelines and forms. The course timelines and forms have a version number (in the course timeline settings), and must have a license page containing a description and a license code.

A course timeline or form can also have a license page and code if they are not in the license store.

When a course timeline or form gets copied, the copy is connected to the same license page. This means that different versions of the course timeline or form can be connected to the same license page.

My course timeline shows a license code, what now?

The code means that the content is being tracked and that the content is not free or that there are specific terms of use for the content. Contact the distributor or author of the content for further information about licensing options.

May I copy blocks from a licensed course timeline?

It is not allowed to use individual blocks copied from a licensed course timeline without permission from the author or distributor. Any blocks or content that have been copied without permission may be removed later.

How do I apply for a license code?

The licensing is currently managed by LearningStone. If you expect to be selling content to other parties, please contact us for further support. This is currently free of charge.
Currently the tracking of content across workspaces is done by LearningStone.

To apply for a license code:

1.       Send a link to a development version of a course timeline.

2.       Tell us which company will be the formal distribution partner and send us contact details.

3.       LearningStone Support will define a code and connect it to the course timeline.

4.       You will receive a monthly report of who uses the course timeline and how many members have been able to use the course timeline. This may not be an exact number as members can be added and removed on a daily basis.

How do I distribute course timelines?

Invite partners/buyers to a (solo) groupspace that you have created for distribution purposes, so that they can copy the course timeline. You can add both licensed and un-licensed course timelines to this groupspace but only licensed course timelines will be tracked. Unlicensed content can be copied to any other workspace without you noticing.

Can I change the license code or remove it?

Please request the change with a link to the course timeline and the title.

Can licensed content be adapted and copied?

Yes, currently the content can be adapted. You should tell users which changes are allowed. In most cases small edits should not be a problem (dates, a logo, less blocks etc). You can copy the whole course timeline to any groupspace. If there are members in the new groupspaces, this may charged for, depending on the license by the distributor or author.

Can your blocks be copied?

It is currently technically possible to copy individual blocks from a licensed course timeline. These will not be tracked automatically. It is important that you tell your buyer, that this is- or is not allowed. By default it is not permitted (see above).
